After discharge from hospital
When a temporary discharge permit can be requested, for how long, and why it cannot bring a worker from abroad.
Updated
Discharge from hospital is a pressured moment, but the temporary permit is narrower than people often expect. Under procedure 9.2.0002, a patient about to be discharged presents a diagnosis from a physician at the hospital or institution, a need for continuity of care, and an estimated discharge date.
- The permit is granted for three months at most.
- It allows employment only of a worker already in Israel.
- It cannot be used to invite a worker from abroad.
- An extension requires the ordinary procedure and a discharge letter.
We can help arrange the documents and look for a placement among workers already in Israel, if the permit is granted. We do not shorten the authority’s timetable and do not promise that a suitable worker will be free on the day of discharge.
